An owner’s rep is a third party that represents the project owner’s interests in the development or management of a project. The owner’s reps will advise and act on behalf of the project owner ensuring the project is successfully completed and goes according to the owner’s interests.

Most owner’s representatives specialize in a specific area of their expertise which allows them to coordinate the different parts of the project. This may involve designers, architects, subcontractors, engineers, general contractors, municipal authorities, and others. The main goal of an owner’s rep is to make sure that the owner’s goals and objectives are met in every decision of the project.
The owner’s representatives can be in charge of tasks like due diligence, quality control, overseeing budgets and schedules, disbursements, estimating, construction document reviews, and more.
